Here’s the wonderful story of Mark 5:25-34 put into verse. I’ve found that doing this helps me get deeper into the story and see it in new ways. I hope you will find it helpful in some way.
Reaching Out To Jesus
Twelve years, painful isolation, finances drained, spiraling frustration.
Somehow there was still a flicker of faith in the dark of her night,
An abiding belief God would set things right.
She heard Jesus was near and she knew—if she could but touch His clothes her troubles were through.
She bravely worked through the crush of the crowd,
Weaving in and out, her head humbly bowed.
Suddenly He was there and she thought of her plan,
She froze for a moment, then s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d out her hand.
She touched His cloak and felt wonderfully free,
Then He turned around and said, “Who touched Me?”
She felt her face flush and wanted to hide, His piercing eyes met hers, she shivered and sighed.
She fell at His feet and told Him her story,
She saw Him smile and was warmed by His glory.
He called her “Daughter” and said, “Go in peace”—her faith in Him had brought healing and given release.
She would never forget that day all alone in the crowd,
When she reached out to Jesus and her faith made Him proud.
